Ohhh yummy! My dear friend little J just sent me a link to the BoBoots website and it's getting me super excited about winter! BoBoots have all the comfort and snugglyness of ugg boots, but without the trashy stereotype (Pammy Anderson anyone)! BoBoots are lined with sheepskin, they have a leather exterior & a rubber sole, and they're oh so delicious! I can picture wearing these after a fun day up the slopes, while drinking a hot chocolate in front of a roaring fire - ideally at the Cardrona Hotel. Heaven. Below are my picks of the best BoBoots.

Mmm I feel so warm and cuddly just looking at these! I can't wait to get my own pair. This is actually making me look forward to the cold season that is rapidly approaching!

Hope you're all enjoying your faux Friday!

Off With Her Head!!!

I went to Alice in Wonderland on Friday and absolutely loved all of the clothes in the movie. The story was great too, don't get me wrong, but it was the fashion that made me want to see the film again! Alice had the most amazing clothes, which cleverly changed as she grew and shrunk throughout the movie. She primarily wore beautiful dresses which had bows, ruffles, ties and voluminous layers of material. They all managed to seem whimsical and fantasy-like at the same time. Blue was a common theme with Alice, as was her big beautiful mane of curls (I like). See some pictures below...

The other characters also had amazing clothing - as you can see below. A big feature that I noticed in the film was the presence of outrageously-large bow ties (like the Mad Hatters). I love the Red Queen's boots and I also love how the White Queen looks so innocent and somewhat dark at the same time...that's a tricky thing to pull off and I like it.

Fashionistas all over the world are picking up on this Wonderland trend, with Alice-themed accessories, clothing and fashion spreads in magazines. I love the emphasis on big & little items (big bows, small crockery), corporate attire, outrageous hats, wee gloves and glam dresses!

I might have to incorporate a wee bit of Alice into my own wardrobe - maybe I'll stick with beautiful layered dresses before I try out the massive top hat trend!

Have a good Easter everyone!

Don't Shoot the Messenger!

There are some days when you open up your letterbox and a sweet sweet surprise awaits you. This happened to me the other day, when a shining, glossy, brand new Peter Alexander catalogue was staring up at me from the letterbox. Now I know I've blogged about PA before, but I had to mention this brand again. I am in LOVE with everything in this winter catalogue - as are my team at work (hehe sorry guys)! I'm just going to mention my favourite item, plus a few others, today.

Lately, I've been idolising celebrities and cool kids alike for their hot leather biker gloves. The ones that are fingerless, with studs, cute holes and funky straps. I love these gloves so much that I've incorporated them into two dress up costumes this year! Hehe. So naturally, when I opened up the page that had these precious gloves below on them, I almost fainted in delight. Almost. Look at these. What could be better? They are fingerless. They are made of leather. They have studs. They have hole-detailing. They have straps. They come in amazing colours - 80s pink and mint green. THEY MUST BE MINE! I may have tried them on today. I may be buying the mint green ones next pay. Gosh they're hot.

Other amazing items to note in the catalogue included these cool Ribbed Thigh High Bed Socks (which look so amazing with boots), and the Soft Stripe Pj Pant with Attached Knit Leg Warmer (genius!). Seriously, check out the catalogue online, it's amazing.

Damn that mailman, now I want every item in this catalogue! Hmm, dreams are free...and soon the gloves will be mine!

Enjoy all!

Fashion Ahoy!

I’m loving all the nautical clothes that are around at the moment –sailor chic is so hot right now! The look basically consists of stripes, the colours red, blue, white & tan, plus a jolly sailor attitude! Set the mainsail! Hiya hiya!

*cough cough*

Anyway, back to land L...below are some great examples of nauticalness and I bet Poseidon would agree with me on this! I love the Motel Patriot Cardi - with the red, white and blue, you can see why the Americans named it like this. Plus, you’d be pretty patriotic of your boat while wearing this baby (if your boat was a country that is)! The District 9 pants by Sass & Bide are so sci fi and out there, while still being nautical! Clever! And these Melissa shoes! SO COOL! These are the ones designed by Vivienne Westwood, so pretty & girly! Karen Walker’s ‘The Village’ range has a big nautical theme and it was hard not to include all of her clothes in this! I love these Alice Boat Shoes and socks, they add a certain preppyness to the nautical look, which I really enjoy.

I’ve also sneaked in some things I’m crushing on at the moment – blazers (how hot is this ASOS number?), red lippy (oh NARS, I love you), cute handbags (adore) and silk scarves (they work with everything)!

Enjoy the nautical trend my fellow sailors, it’s so fun to pull off! Be careful with the stripes though, some can have an unflattering effect. Not ideal.

Have a fabulous day!

Oh dear, I was introduced to the most dangerous site this morning by Belz and now I can't stop thinking about it! Argh! So I had to share it with you all so that you can suffer with me too (aren't I caring)! The site is called Shoes of Prey and it is A-MAY-ZING! It allows you to design your own shoes - be it heels, flats, wedges etc. They have so many pretty styles & colours to choose from and it is just TOO EASY! Hence the dangerous part. Here are some designs that I've created when playing around on the site...

Sigh, I die.

Enjoy my pretties!

There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in Her Shoe

I feel like the story about the old woman is one which is describing my potential future. Not ideal future, but potential. My mum has always teased me about owning so many shoes, but in my opinion you can never have too many. Every girl needs to own at LEAST one pair of the following: boots, heels, casual shoes (i.e. Keds), running shoes, jandals, flats and slippers, so that’s already seven pairs right there! Plus a girl needs different shoes for different moods – variety is the spice of life darlings!

There are sooo many stunning shoes around for autumn and below is just a teeny tiny percentage of what is available right now. I’m especially loving the boots at the moment, so much variety in height and styles! You can see this below from the flat ankle boots by both Chaos and Harmony & Mimco, to the heeled Nude boots and the beautiful over-the-knee Witchery boots. Stunning.

I’ve got a big thing for brogues at the moment too – I’m lusting over the Lilli Mill 5100s (cute name!) and I love the popping cherry colour of the Soles brogues. Maybe it’s because they fit into the garçon chic trend!

I’m a big fan of floral as you know and with these Rubi canvas shoes costing only $20, what’s not to love?

I’m also a massive promoter of big heels (you won’t find any miniscule kitten heels in my wardrobe) so I love the heights of these Witchery and Tony Bianco heels. The Witchery ones are so pretty and elegant, while the Tony Bianco ones are perfect for both work AND play. Bargain! You’re pretty much getting two shoes for the price of one! Just think about the CPW*!

Enjoy lusting over these pretties! I can’t keep my eyes off shoes at the moment!

Have a good day!

*CPW = Cost Per Wear. If you didn’t know this acronym already it will change your life, such a good way to justify purchases to yourself (and others)!!!

Hoorah for Lingerie!

As the saying goes, it's what's on the inside that counts. But in the case of fashion, it's what's underneath that counts. Lingerie can make or break an outfit - although many people seem to ignore this. No, I don't want to see the outline of a lacy bra under a tight t-shirt, nor do I want to see lime-green straps peeking out from underneath an elegant cocktail dress, and don't even get me started on VPL! I'm all for the "statement bra" - i.e. a lacy number under a sheer shirt, or a cute colourful strap peeking out from under a pretty singlet, but there's a time and a place ladies. Saggy, grotty bras are the worst! It takes 5 minutes to get professionally sized and in my opinion, it is SO worth it. Apparently a massive percentage of women (let's say....65%) are wearing the wrong-sized bra! Crazy! Below is some lingerie that is both pretty and functional - ideal!

I love this one from Bendon - it has quite animalistic patterning! It looks like claw marks in my opinion - reow! Love the detailed straps too! The bottoms are cute as well, especially with the bow detailing!

I love the bright rose colour of this set, mixed with the cream detailing. These straps are definitely statement ones, they'd look so nice peeking out from a black singlet. I also like the mixture of lace and linear patterning on this set, such variety!

I had to include this set as I've seen it in every magazine, promotion or fashion-related article recently. Maybe that's part of the reason that I love it so much. It's a bit zebra-meets-lacy-lady! This is definitely on my wish list at the moment!

Image Source: Elle Macpherson Obsidian Greer - www.ellemacphersonintimates.com

This is quite a feminine set in my opinion, what with the lace & bows and all...I like the classic look that this set brings, plus the cute little peep holes in the bottoms. Very chic!

No wonder people rave about La Perla, this set is so cute! I love the subtle patterning, the thin bra straps, the teensiest bit of lace detailing & the comfy-looking panties. Perfect!

Another great lingerie brand is, of course, Victoria's Secret. This website has so much choice, so it was hard just picking one. I love the pattern on this set, a mixture of floral and bright pink! The skirted thong & lace gloves are cute too! So sweet.

I hope this motivates you all to either get sized (if you haven't already) or to check out the great lingerie sales on offer at the moment. I know I'll be checking them out!

Hope your week is going well so far!
