Get your passport and your bikini, you need a holiday, come see me!

With Christmas and summer holidays knocking at the day, I thought it was the perfect time to discuss swimwear with you all. One pieces are quite popular at the moment, much to the delight of those wanting to hide their belly. Bikinis are still as popular as ever and there is an amazing variety of styles and colours to choose from.

We all know what standard bikinis look like, so this selection is a little bit different. This navy blue Goddess bikini is the most simple of the lot, but it has a beautiful top which I thought was worth sharing with you all. It's quite similar to those nice Country Road singets which had the bow front. The next bikini has a strapless top with cute frilled detailing. I also love the colour, so summery! Before hunting down images for this blog, I didn't realise that Victoria's Secret did swimwear - and my, what a range they have! The ABS Ruffle bikini is so cute and I wish I owned it. Both the floral pattern and the ruffle detailing are very feminine...plus the top detailing is a great way to hide a small bust. Sneaky AND chic! Too bad we don't all have a body like Miranda Kerr to make our bikinis look THIS amazing! I adore the back detailing on the next VS bikini top, not so great for tan lines, but it looks way better than all the straps that are normally dangling around aimlessly.

I really want to invest in a one piece, they'd be so perfect when you really don't feel up to wearing a bikini. A good friend of mine has this Harbourside one piece and it looks amazing on! Very 1920s, with the white ties and sweet faux pockets. The next piece from Jets is very tropical, with floral patterns and ruffle detailing, perfect from those island holidays. This maillot from Seafolly is pretty simple, but the frill down the middle, plus the low neckline makes it a bit more special. The final maillot is a bit hoochie with the hips showing. It looks like a standard bikini from the back, so this is another sneaky sneaky style!

Which do you prefer - bikinis, one-pieces or a different style entirely?

Happy holidays everyone, I hope you get some great deals in the Boxing Day sales!

I Slept With Peter Alexander

I’ve had a love affair with Peter Alexander for quite a while, but shhh don’t tell my boyfriend! I was smitten when a PA store opened up recently on our Golden Mile and I lusted over all the pretty sleepwear items that I saw when I went in last week. PA is the funnest sleepwear line that I’ve seen, with kooky prints, cute designs and even some daywear pieces!

Here’s an example of some of my favourite PA classics. These Bright Lolly Shorts have the sweetest pattern on them (pun intended!), although I think I’d be craving sugary treats everytime I wore them! They’re very Willy Wonka-esque. Knowing about my love for playsuits, PA was kind enough to create this Vintage Bunny Jumpsuit for me. Awww Petey, you shouldn’t have. I love the detailing in the ruffles and the variety of playsuits available in his ranges. This Sequin Hi Tee ticks another one of my boxes (sequins, I like) and I reckon that catching a glimpse of this top in the mirror would definitely brighten your morning! PA also does a great range for men (and children fyi) – I like these Feather Boxers, so colourful and trendy!

The next lot of sleepwear is slightly fancier and glamorous – one doesn’t want to look like a frump while sleeping! This Puffy Big Bow Sleep Tee could be mistaken for a gorgeous dress as it is so chic and stylish. I love the massive pink bow and the puffed sleeves. The Glitter Angel Nightie is another item which could be confused for evening wear, with its beautiful neckline and my favourite, sequins. I own an amazing pair of PA slippers (gold with pink bows if you must know!), but I’m tempted buy these stunners! I’d frolick around the house in them, pretending to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and I’d even wear them outside if I felt the need! A girl needs a good eye mask when travelling and this Christmas one would tick both the need & want boxes for your travel requirements. So cheap, so chic, so covetable.

I added just a small selection of daywear, as I didn’t want to ruin the fun of browsing through the site (or store) for you all! I’m absolutely in love with both of these items. The Vintage Floral Jumpsuit would be so stunning with fierce black heels, it’d be such a beautiful feminine outfit. The Drop Crotch Pants are oh so hot and I’m crying inside that I don’t personally own these. They come in a dove grey too, but I’m such a sucker for pink that I couldn’t not get this colour. They look as comfy as anything! Ohhhh I want!

What are your thoughts on the current Peter Alexander range? Are you a long time fan like me, or are you a virgin to this creative genuis? Hope you’re all getting sorted for Christmas presents, I’d love the pink drop crotch pants, thanks for asking!

No Room for the Blues

Hi all, this is just a short wee post as I'm flat out today, but I couldn't not share this with you! I was at a delicious dinner last night for M's birthday and her flattie Mel had on the best OPI shade for this summer! She was wearing a new colour from the latest OPI Brights collection, called No Room for the Blues. I heart! I've decided that naming the OPI colours would be my dream job...I need to get my foot in that door!

Hope you're all having a good day! I promise I'll write a longer post next time!
